Our tips for clean dishes from the dishwasher

Who has never had a dirty dish coming out of the dishwasher? To avoid this, it is important to properly maintain and clean your dishwasher, but also to check various elements such as the salt content and the rinsing liquid or the filling of your machine. Here are our valuable tips!

Dirty dishes coming out of the dishwasher are annoying for many people because it wastes more time than it saves! Rest assured, there are solutions to avoid having to wash all your dishes again, and here they are:

Be sure to wash the filter, wash arms and dishwasher door frequently

For optimal washing it is important to check that your machine is clean. Therefore, you need to clean certain elements such as the filter, the wash arms and the door of the dishwasher (not to mention the small washrooms) regularly (more or less once a month).

The filter is the first element to be checked regularly for cleanliness! The filter is the fastest to clog, which can reduce the washing quality of your dishwasher. Take it out of your machine, throw all the residue in the garbage, then soak it in hot water with dish soap, then scrub it with a brush.

As for the door of your dishwasher, it is important to check the condition of the seals that guarantee the water tightness of your machine. They are relatively easy to remove and can be washed off with a brush, a wet cloth and a little washing up liquid.

Finally, it is also advisable to wash the wash arms (or spray arms), as they are the means by which water is sprayed into your machine. If the small holes in the arms are clogged, the wash will not be very effective. Remove them from the machine, dip them in hot water with washing-up liquid and, if necessary, use a sharp object to unblock the holes.

Checking the salt and flushing fluid level

If you are not using all-in-one tablets, it is important that you check the salt and rinse aid levels regularly, otherwise you will find your dishes dirty when you take them out of the machine!

Both are important for clean and shiny dishes.

A sign that your dishwasher does not contain enough salt is if a thin white film appears on the dishes. It is important that you use regeneration salt and not coarse table salt.

Use Bio Tech GTX Machine Wash cleaner 4 times a year

The probiotic dishwasher cleaner thoroughly cleans your dishwasher and its pipes and thus prevents bad odours and/or a decrease in cleaning efficiency. This product should be used 4 times a year to clean your dishwasher of organic residues (food scraps) that may have lodged in your dishwasher and/or the machine’s pipes. Simply pour 20 ml into the washing compartment and/or directly into the empty machine and run a normal or eco program (at 50°C). Attention: this product does not replace the maintenance of the various elements listed (filter, door, wash arm), which must be done manually.

Descale once or twice a year

It is important to descale your dishwasher at least once or twice a year for optimal cleaning. Here’s how: Pour 6 tablespoons of citric acid or approximately 250 ml (2 cups) of white vinegar directly into the dishwasher reservoir. Then drain your machine.

Fill your dishwasher, but not too much

To save water and energy, we recommend that you always run the dishwasher when it is full.

However, it is important not to overcrowd the dishwasher, as a minimum of space must be left between dishes and plates for optimal washing.

Rinse your dishes lightly before putting them in the dishwasher

Don’t forget to rinse your plates lightly before putting them in the dishwasher to get rid of any food particles left on them. For the products you use to work properly, it is important to leave as little residue as possible: without a minimum of dirt to clean, the products will not have the desired effect.
