Frost & Sullivan Applauds Green Worx’s Commitment to Sustainability by Creating Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products
Based on its recent analysis of the biological cleaning market, Frost & Sullivan recognised Green Worx Cleaning Solutions with the 2016 South African Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation; an Award that was handed over at an awards ceremony held in Cape Town, South Africa, on 18 August. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leveraging leading-edge technologies.
Green Worx uses natural microbes and bio enzymes to manufacture innovative, green cleaning products that break down waste materials into organic nutrients, and are safe for release back into the environment. According to Frost & Sullivan: “Green Worx prides itself on being a local company with international standards by delivering high-quality, cost-effective and eco-friendly cleaning products.”
Green Worx has astutely leveraged its access to imported, high-quality industrial cleaning enzymes and microorganism raw materials through its sister company, Managed Care Economical Solutions (MCES). This allows it to locally manufacture an extensive and affordable product range of its own branded, eco-friendly cleaning products that are both cost effective and of international standard.
“Green Worx formulates green cleaning products using a combination of specially selected bacterial strains, with an extensive range of natural enzymes comprising proteases, lipases, amylases, cellulases, mannanases and pectinases,” said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst, Kimberley Bryant. “It uses bacterial strains supplemented with enzymes that begin degrading the organic matter while the bacteria is still reproducing. As the bacteria reproduces, it generates new enzymes to continue the cleaning process, making the products more effective.’
Green Worx’s flagship product, the P-Island Urinal Device, is an advanced urinal accessory with an innovative angled pebble-designed cage that can significantly reduce backsplash, prevent potential drain blockages and is fully recyclable. Inside the cage is a bio-enzyme tablet of Bacillus subtilus spores, which produce multiple enzymes capable of degrading organic matter, completely eradicating malodours from stale urine, and reducing the need to clean constantly.
The eco-friendly cleaning solutions are suitable for floors, carpets, surfaces, laundry, septic tanks, grease traps and restrooms for customers in a range of industries, including food and beverage, dairy, hospitality and cleaning.
Importantly, Green Worx’s products have been certified as biodegradable by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) 301 standards. The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) confirmed its approval of Green Worx’s Odorite Ultra Deep Clean Enzymatic 30X for use in the food industry with milk and dairy products. This accreditation by the SABS is the first of its kind in the biological cleaning industry.
Underlining its commitment to the Green trend, Green Worx has introduced a recycling incentive for its customers. The plastic containers in which its products are sold are not biodegradable; therefore, it has included a deposit in the selling price to encourage customers to return the containers for refilling or recycling.
“The company’s core strategy of building and strengthening its brand equity is focused on customer awareness,” noted Kimberley. “This strategy of educating the nation and supplying raw materials to its competitors through MCES has paid rich dividends, as Green Worx is considered the market expert in South Africa by both its customers and competitors.”
