MEA Business Awards – Rewarding Excellence

Issued by Perfect Word Consulting (Pty) Ltd.

“Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better.”- Pat Riley .

The economic and socio-political climate globally, but more specifically within South Africa itself, is such that South African businesses find themselves in a very volatile market. Although it seems that the country has rather successfully moved out of the economic threats of 2017, the ground is still far from stable.

Economic and operational predictions overall seem to be quite tentative due to the lack of certainty and/or surety of future political events. Globally, the current socio-political circumstances render the economy always slightly at risk of being at the tipping point. Companies wishing to succeed truly need to push themselves to be innovative and adaptive while offering products and services that can prove resilient to any external (as well as internal) factors.

It is vital for businesses to be passionate about what they do and how they do it. John J Coetzee, CEO of Green Worx Cleaning Solutions states; “We have to understand our purpose. Why are we here? Why do we do what we do? At Green Worx our passion is environmental protection. We commit ourselves everyday to that as our fundamental purpose, this informs exactly how we run our business, striving for excellence and always trying to better our practices to fulfill that purpose daily.”

This passion driven strategy has proven successful over the years, winning Coetzee’s business more than 10 awards over the last four years. Most recently, Green Worx was awarded the MEA Business Award as the “Most Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products Manufacturer 2018”.

The MEA Business Awards’ mission statement is outlined as being; “Designed to shine a light on the firms and individuals who are achieving outstanding results within industries that are constantly evolving.” These awards are hosted by MEA Markets, ‘a quarterly publication dedicated to researching and publicising the major moves and events as they happen across the entire Middle East and Africa Region’.

The policy of the MEA Business Awards is that all of the awards are strictly based on merit, thus equalising all contenders regardless of size or location. The awards’ evaluation process starts with a voting period, after which the committee’s research team implements an intensive research period to analyse the achievements made by each nominee over the course of the 12 preceding months. This rigorous process ensures that those who are selected as winners are truly deserving of their awards.

“It truly is such an honour,” continues Coetzee. “These awards help to keep us on our toes and to remind us of our passion. Each award given is not only a pat on the back for the work that has been done, but a motivating factor to keep working towards better solutions and innovative practices that truly benefit both people and the environment.”
